What is SafeChoices?
The SafeChoices program is a statewide initiative of Tasmania's Action Plan for Family and Sexual Violence 2019-2022 (Safe Homes Families Communities).
Its primary focus is the improved safety of all Tasmanian community members, through the raising of community awareness around the issues of Family Violence.
The program will provide practical support, advice and referral to support services, for those people experiencing Family Violence, through providing the following services:
- A web-site which will provide information around Family Violence and support services available.
- E-mail support available to all members of the community
- Phone support through a 1800 number
- Information packs
- One to one support from a case worker for those people experiencing multiple needs
SafeChoices Vision
SafeChoices is committed to preventing and responding to family violence in Tasmania. All SafeChoices services are provided free from discrimination and ensure the fair treatment of all people who access the service.
SafeChoices acknowledges that family violence is complex and everyone’s experience is different and unique. SafeChoices provides advise and information and individualised support plans to those who require ongoing case work. SafeChoices is not an emergency or crisis service, but if one of our workers felt that you need an emergency service, they will help you get in touch with the most appropriate service.
